According to Mrs. Dottie, the whole notion of this blog is "rather outrageous."
It's been fun taking Villa's actual words and shoving them up where the sun don't shine, and I've barely started. Plenty more where that came from.
DA Jim Martin won't sit down with him.
Neither will the MC.
It's not some deep dark conspiracy, but is pretty obvious to all of us. If Bill Villa wants to know why he has had no success w/ the MC or Jim Martin, he need look no farther than his own mirror. People don't take kindly to name-calling, threats and dishonesty, even if it is from the grieving father of a drunk driving victim. They're funny that way. Go figure.

What's embarrassing, and sad, is a lonely, unkempt, and obese man ... Bernie O'Hare ... all alone in a studio apartment above a sporting goods store in Nazareth, so desperately afraid that he's in the process of losing his status as "blogger #1" in the Lehigh Valley, and all 26 of his loyal followers, that he is sifting through months of e-mails, trying to find something, anything, to throw at Bill Villa and get Bill to stop exposing Bernie him as a liar, a "dry drunk," a sadist,
I was with Mr. Villa at the very well-attended Chen Arts Group's 5th Fabulous Party/Event last night. He didn't appear to be "tied up in knots" to me. He was enjoying himself immensely helping to direct the photo-taking his young son Gianni was doing (and I'm anxious to see Gianni's pictures at Mrs. Dottie's "Lehigh Valley Somebody" blog later today).
At 7:19pm last night, we know what you were doing, Bernie. You were all alone in that sad studio apartment of yours threatening Bill Villa that "playtime is over."
This is quite a juxtaposition of visuals. Villa, handsome, vibrant, great sense of humor, talented, a terrific writer, and, song writer of some acclaim, family man, trying as best he can to get on with his life in the aftermath of his only daughter's death-- a death, and life, our local "justice" system tried to cheapen in its unenthusiastic prosecution of Sheena's killer, which Bill was able to "reverse."
And then there's you, Bernie. All alone in that studio apartment threatening Bill Villa that "playtime is over."

Subject Heading: Your Cowardly Refusal To Meet With Me
Mr. Martin, I was disappointed--but not surprised--hearing from your office's Crime Victim Advocate Christina Wallace recently that you will "never" meet with me to discuss the reasonable questions I have about your office's handling of my daughter Sheena’s killer’s case an a DUI Homicide case that “resolved” in September 2007 that I’ve been inquiring about.
I thought our first meeting on August 15, 2006 was productive.
At that meeting you didn't even try to conceal your empathy with and support for the homicidal drunk driver who killed my daughter Sheena. And this was valuable information I put to good use in having hundreds of people write letters to you and to the Judge informing you that thousands of people were watching Sheena's case very closely in an election year for both of you. As you know, this 'groundswarm' strategy was the difference between the slap on the wrist (house arrest/work release) Sheena’s killer may have gotten and the 5.5 to 12 years in state prison he is currently serving.
Illuminating and inspiring statements you made to me during our August 15, 2006 meeting with a witness present included:
* "I've received letters of support for the young man (i.e., my daughter Sheena’s killer) and I'm impressed by these letters." (Mr. Martin, I've always assumed these letters came from lawyers at the criminal defendant’s father’s law firm, many of whom have been generous and regular contributors to the Committee to Elect Jim Martin as can be discerned via public records at Lehigh County Voter Registration).
* "Mr. Villa, how would you feel if you were this boy's father?"
* "I'LL COME AFTER YOU! I'LL COME AFTER YOU IN THE MEDIA!" (This one you bellowed at me, the grieving father, when I told you I knew the surrealistically high crash speed that was indicative of the defendant terrorizing Sheena with speed; malice; and third degree murder).
* "Let's hope there's nothing wrong with the blood evidence because if there is I'll have to take that [major] charge off the table."
... which is exactly what you did in the September 2007 DUI Homicide case I’ve been inquiring about-- that is, you had Chief Deputy DA Renee Smith phone the DUI homicide victim’s father, the night before trial, and tell him that the Judge had "tossed" the blood evidence (and this wasn't true) so that you could take the major charge off the table for the criminal defendant's grandfather, a longtime pal of yours.
Mr. Martin, I'm certain you had this same 11th hour major charge drop shell game in mind in February 2007, when you secretly moved my daughter Sheena’s killer’s guilty plea hearing up 10 days, from February 12 to February 2, and purposefully did not inform Sheena's family of this next court date's schedule change.
Had we not heard about this secret date switcheroo (which was executed on January 17, 2007) from a concerned and anonymous insider informant in late January 2007, and had not been in attendance at the guilty plea hearing on February 2, 2007, I'm certain you would have told the Judge the same lie you told him on September 25, 2007 in the other DUI homicide case, and that is ...
that you were withdrawing the major charge (i.e., the charge that carries a state mandatory minimum 3 to 6 year state prison sentence) as "part of a plea agreement that both sides were in agreement with."
I'm sure glad we were tipped off and that Sheena's family was in court on February 2, 2007 forcing you to keep that major 3 to 6 charge on the table through our mere presence.
Unfortunately, the “September 2007” grieving family was not in attendance on September 25, 2007 when their son's killer unexpectedly ditched his next day trial start and pled guilty-- and why not, since you had thoughtfully dropped 9 of the 14 charges against him, including that major 3 to 6 charge, in a night before trial plea deal that the victim’s family was on record as being vehemently against since April 2007 when they found out that their son’s killer had scored a 2nd DUI in Northampton County after killing their son driving drunk.
Helpfully--and erroneously--The Morning Call reported on September 26, 2007 that the victim’s family "had agreed earlier this year to prosecutors dropping the major charge."
The Morning Call has yet to print a retraction or a clarification.
I know all this, Mr. Martin, because I have spoken at length with the father of the DUI Homicide victim in this case. And he has spoken with Lehigh Valley Hospital who informed him that there was nothing inadmissible about the blood evidence your office told him had been "tossed" by the Judge the night before trial because of an error on Lehigh Valley Hospital's part involving the paperwork on the chain of custody of the blood evidence. This was a complete fabrication.
And most damning: the criminal defendant’s grandfather, your longtime pal, who the Villa family has known for 40 years, told my parents, on the steps of the Cathedral, that you and he are longtime friends and that he was an invited guest at your invitation-only swearing-in ceremony in January 2008, 4 months after you had manipulated 18 months in county jail for his grandson, instead of the state mandatory minimum 3 to 6 years in state prison.
In a nutshell, Jim, thousands of Lehigh County voters have your number.
We know how you fix DUI Homicide cases for cronies.
And there's a big difference between 'prosecutorial discretion' (which you can hide behind in my daughter Sheena's case) and flat-out lying-- to a judge, to the victim's family, and about Lehigh Valley Hospital, the night before a scheduled trial.
A district attorney--the county's top law enforcement officer--is not supposed to side with the criminal defendants and against the grieving families of crime victims.
But this is exactly what you do whenever you feel like it.
We are determined to spare future grieving family members of DUI Homicide victims the needlessly cruel added agony of experiencing you siding against their deceased loved one and cutting their loved one's killer the break of a lifetime.
Like you did in my daughter Sheena’s death case by not charging third degree murder when it clearly applied.
Like you did in the “September 2007” case by making that major 3 to 6 charge vanish via flagrant and arrogant abuse of power, the night before trial.
Mr. Martin, our goal is to have you removed from office and disbarred.
And we're telling you this because we want you to see it coming at you like a drunk driver.

September 7, 2008 7:29 AM Mr.Dottie/Bill Villa said... "Welcome Mat" Meeting Request #165
Dear Morning Call Editorial Board:
My name is Bill Villa.
I'm 54 years old, a lifelong resident of Allentown, and a 30+ year subscriber to The Morning Call.
I have reason to believe Lehigh County District Attorney James B. Martin is soft on select/connected drunk drivers who kill people.
Even more troubling, I have reason to believe The Morning Call news department facilitates Mr. Martin going easy on select/connected homicidal drunk drivers by way of the information it chooses to include--and not include--in its coverage of these criminal cases.
My only daughter Sheena was killed by a drunk driver on her 25th birthday, March 24, 2006.
Sheena's convicted killer is the son of a prominent local attorney whose law firm has represented The Morning Call for many years.
Numerous members of this law firm have been generous and regular contributors to the Committee to Elect Jim Martin, according to public records at Lehigh County Voter Registration.
During the criminal proceedings against Sheena's killer, I was disappointed and distressed by what I perceived to be a purposefully unenthusiastic prosecution by DA Jim Martin and news coverage by The Morning Call that was slanted in favor of the criminal defendant's family -- especially toward the conclusion of the criminal proceedings.
I respectfully request a meeting with The Morning Call Editorial Board to discuss my concerns regarding the newspaper's coverage of my daughter Sheena's case.
I want to be heard by you on this topic.
And The Morning Call Editorial Board's "welcome mat always is out for those who want to be heard." -mcall.com
Additionally, I would like to discuss The Morning Call's coverage of a 2003 vehicular crash death and the soft outcome for the criminal defendant in this case.
And finally, I would like to discuss a September 2007 DUI homicide case, including ...
* the surprisingly soft outcome for a criminal defendant who had received a 2nd DUI after having committed vehicular homicide while DUI
* the relationship between DA Jim Martin and the criminal defendant's grandfather who was an invited guest at Mr. Martin's January 2008 swearing-in ceremony
* the "excellent questions that deserve to be answered" (your own Investigations Editor Tim Darragh's words) that I have raised regarding this DUI homicide case
Quoting from "Meet The Editorial Board" articles in your web site's archives ...
"... the [Morning Call Editorial] board intends to be as open with readers as possible. It meets regularly -- a few times every week -- with people and groups about topics of public interest. The Lehigh Valley area is blessed to have public-spirited citizens who recognize that the newspaper is a corporate citizen that strives to be engaged in the debate on such issues, and that tries to offer leadership. The welcome mat always is out for those who want to be heard." -www.mcall.com
This is my 165th request for a "Welcome Mat" meeting with The Morning Call Editorial Board.
I request that you honor it, and my daughter Sheena, by booking a meeting with me.
I look forward to hearing from you and scheduling a date and time to meet with the 5-member Morning Call Editorial Board.

Short story. About a year ago, some people at another blog were attacking Michael Molovinsky. Angie (Mrs. Dottie) and I didn't know Michael from Adam back then, but we could see, plainly, that these bloggers were way off-base. Angie and I jumped in there and countered them and defended MM. The attacks subsided and ended. Grateful, MM phoned us, and a friendship began.
It is only recently that Angie and I have realized what a remarkable thing that was that we did for MM. Remarkable in that most people wouldn't want to get involved. We understand that now, bitter pill that that is to swallow. Call Angie and I naive, or, remarkable, but we actually believed peope would jump in there and counter Bernie O'Hare and defend us against the plainly outrageous things he's been writing about us. We realize now that we were expecting too much of people. And, I apologize for the inappropriate ways I have responded to the "allies" not joining the fray, and that was, counter-attacking. I was wrong to do this. I can tell you that this won't happen again, because we'll never again expect people to help us fight our battles. And if you've been reading, I think you'll see that, truth is, I don't really need much help ;) I do pretty good solo.

No offense, "Sarina," but this posting is not the type that would ordinarily attract my attention. Just as you have no interest in politics, I'm not that interested in tomato sauce. Sorry. But I've just learned, from the troll blog, about this anonymous snark. I see it is attributed to me. I did not make it. It is impossible to prove a negative, but I don't post anonymously. Until yesterday, I never even used a pseudonym, and made clear to everyone in the comment thread that I was, in fact, using that pseudonym to make a point."
---------------
(me, Broadway Jim, again) Wait a second. Lemme get this straight. It's perfectly okay for Bernie O'Hare to use a pseudonym to make a point with Bill Villa ... but when Bill Villa uses a pseudonym to make a point with Mike Molovinsky, all hell breaks loose? And it continues even after Villa apologizes to Molovinsky? Something's not right here. But I'm sure Bernie O'Hare has a perfectly logical explanation for this obvious double standard, right Bern?
Wait. It gets even better.
Yep, Bernie knows all about not being able to prove a negative, that is, how one cannot prove "I didn't make that anonymous comment." Wanna see a master of deception (Bernie O'Hare) at work?
Watch this ... on Wednesday, August 27, 2008, at his "Bennett Defends POM Salary" post, Bernie O'Hare attributed an anonymous personal attack comment to Bill Villa. Villa, of course, as Bernie astutely pointed out at Sarina's blog this afternoon, couldn't prove a negative, that is, he came on and denied having made the comment but he couldn't prove he hadn't made it.
Watch what Bernie was able to "prove" (and here's that master of deception part) ... look what Bernie commented back at Villa:
------------
"Villa,
There is no doubt in my mind that statement was made by you or your wife. It's the same claim you've made publicly before, it is off topic, is a personal attack, and is made by someone using AOL as an ISP. In other words, it's you." -Bernie O'Hare
----------------
Well well, case closed.
I don't know about you, but I always thought Bernie's Aug 27 "proof" was a little thin.
As bad as AOL's service is, AOL still has about 50 million subscribers (I'm guessing). Yes, 2 of them are Angie and Bill Villa. And via Bernie O'Hare justice > IT MUST HAVE BEEN ONE OF THEM!
What may be most hysterical and most revealing about all this is that David C. Najarian, Esq., Lynn Twp. Supervisor, and ace attorney, believes that Bernie O'Hare will have an airtight case in court with this one.

But the key question is ... has the genteel Pamela Varkony seen this blog, "Bills and Trolls," created by Bernie O'Hare and Attorney/Lynn Twp. Supervisor Dave Najarian intended as a mockery of grieving father Bill Villa? Pam lost a daughter too ... stay tuned ...

The sad part is that, when I hajacked the previous comment thread to give Mr. Dottie/Bill Villa a taste of his own medicine, I was able to embarrass Bill with his own words, statements he has already made in emails and at other blogs.
This obviously has him tied up in knots.
Go figure.
Playtime is over.

* Villa's daughter gets killed, brutally
* DA & Newspaper conspire to keep lid on it
* Villa blows lid off it; killer gets stiff sentence
* Villa, glad he prevented a screwing, now wants to expose the bad guys (DA & Newspaper)
* DA & Newspaper conspire to keep a lid on it
* Bernie O'Hare lets Villa rant at his blog a few times, but curiously, doesn't comment much, and that's not like Bernie
* Villa uses local blogosphere as a forum for his agenda-- as do dozens of other people (Molivinskli for example thinks he should be Mayor instead of Pawlowski and brays aboiut this incessantly)
* The Morning Call introduces "Blogger Tuesday," a linking/feature thing spotlighting local blogs, and the powers that be at The Call (Gene Kranzley, et al) seem to have gotten quite a bit of input on this from none other than Bernie O'Hare as Bernie has more than hinted about on his blog on numerous occasions ("scrapple" breakfasts with Kranzley, etc.).
* Selected "Blogger Tuesday" bloggers include Bernie O'Hare (naturally), Mike Molivinskli, and Lehigh Valley attorney David Najarian (and Molivinskli seems to be the paper's favorite so far, with two "Blogger Tuesday" installments by Mike already)
* Villa no longer welcome at O'Hare's, Molivinskli's, and Najarian's blogs

"I was able to embarrass Bill with his own words, statements he has already made in emails and at other blogs. This obviously has him tied up in knots." -Bernie O'Hare

E-Mail sent to Lehigh County DA Jim Martin on June 27, 2008 …

Bernie! What a pack rat you are saving all your e-mails!
Do you still have that e-mail DA Jim Martin sent you telling you that he was at a Broadway Show on the evening of April 9 ...
instead of at the Lehigh County Commissioners meeting throwing his weight behind the "Safe Streets" initiative that Martin (allegedly) co-authored with Democrat County Executive Don Cunningham?
Had this initiative passed on April 9, Lehigh County and Allentown would have received $1 million for more police on the streets. Which we really need.
Was the Broadway Show "Annie Get Your Gun?"
Wouldn't this be ironic?

---------------
Bernie O'Hare responds (at Sarina's "Lehigh Valley Lexicon" blog at 1:22pm this afternoon) ...

REVERSAL OF FORTUNE
Well, looks like Bernie O'Hare's survival instinct has kicked in.
Also appears that Bernie O'Hare and Dave Najarian are experiencing the same thing Mike Molovinsky reported to Bill Villa recently, and that is, no increase in readers and commenters at their blogs, the result of their "participation" (i.e., Compliant A-Quiver Sellout) in The Morning Call's "Blogger Tuesday" Forum. All three had been anticipating major publicity windfalls via their association with The Morning Call.
Ever the resourceful chameleon (i.e., phony opportunist) out for ratings however he can get them (e.g., bashing Sam Bennett/Ed Pawlowski/Bill Villa), Bernie changes course today (September 8, 2008) and does a complete 180 re: The Morning Call with a post at LV Ramblings entitled ...
Pamela Varkony Squares Off Against MSN Tonight
... which includes this faux "courageous" salvo ...
"one of the other panelists is The Morning Call's managing editor, David Erdman. He's lucky I won't be asking the questions. I'd like to know why he dumped Varkony's blog. After that, I'd like to know how eliminating Pam's column and all those jobs improved the paper. Why do you lay people off when the paper is turning a profit? How gutless is it to lay people off by calling them at home on a Sunday? How can Erdman possibly justify the hate spewed on the reader forum?"
That's our Bernie O'Hare ;) sucking up for readers however he can get them.
Some good sucking up to Pam in here too; notice the priority pecking order of Bernie's Beefs.
And ... isn't that a personal attack calling Dave Erdman gutless?
But the key question is ... has the genteel Pamela Varkony seen this blog, "Bills and Trolls," created by Bernie O'Hare and Attorney/Lynn Twp. Supervisor Dave Najarian intended as a mockery of grieving father Bill Villa? Pam lost a daughter too ... stay tuned ...
